Since its development began, Windows 8 showed up in screenshots and leaked on torrent sites. Shortly after Microsoft itself has released a test version for developers. This weekend, however, appeared showing the new version catches Consumer Preview. And it comes with a twist: the absence of the start button.
The captures were obtained in PCBeta Chinese forum site and show a supposed Windows version 8 Consumer Preview 6.2.8220 Build 8220, which - by name - would be the version provided by Microsoft to end users. It may not be too drastic a change, but for a button that was there 15 years ago, I think it will be difficult getting used to.
The sources of The Verge site also confirmed that in place of the button should provide an area with thumbnails and it will be to assess the applications and shortcuts without discriminating whether what is interacting with this area is a mouse or a finger of a touchscreen to the touch.
The idea that Microsoft seems to be to further integrate the interface meter on your system. But as the changes in Windows Explorer, I hope there is an option to re-enable the button. For the sake of my sanity, because I think I'll always drag the mouse to the lower left corner of the screen and click, there is something there or not.
