1 first of all you have to download the Fastboot for your Linux or mac.
2 Secondly you have to download the recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img.
3 thirdly copy the recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img at such place where Fastboot can easily find it.
4 now you have to boot your phone into Fastboot mode in 4th step.
5 Next you have to connect your phone using USB with Pc/Mac.
6 after it you have to run this command given below.
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img
the function of this command is to check whether Fasboot reading your Phone or not.
