Apple won a battle against HTC in the Commission of Foreign Trade of the United States earlier this week. According to the decision of the regulator, certain "patent infringement" (when they) will cause some of the HTC phones are prohibited from being sold in the country from next April.
That patent is number 5,946,647, which describes a system capable of searching content and assign some special functions for certain types of data found. How, for example, identifying a phone number on a web page and allow the user to dial the number by clicking on it, among other functions.
Due to a horrible coincidence, all units affected by the decision to run the Android platform, as the Evo 4G, Droid Incredible, Aria and G2. From next April 19, those devices are not allowed to come in America, but HTC still has permission to import reconditioned equipment and spare parts to December 19, 2013.
In a statement released to the press, HTC says the decision came because of "a small detail in the user experience" of devices that will be removed from the models "soon." Since Apple said that "all competition is healthy, but our competitors must create their own news, and do not steal ours."
