Mozilla releases Firefox with the previous interface of Windows 8

Firefox browser with potential changes and novelties, has a new item yesterday. The channel now has a version of Firefox with support for interface of Windows 8, the former Metro. This version is being distributed publicly.

To activate the Metro interface, you must be in Windows 8 RTM and make Firefox the default browser of the system. This is done in the browser settings, "Advanced" tab, sub-tab "General", "Make the default browser Nightly." After that, just open the home screen and click on Firefox.

On its face, you can see that Firefox is now optimized for interface with touch screen - as I imagine that many, if not all, applications will interface Metro. He also has keyboard shortcuts, support for Firefox Sync, PDF reader and integrated spell checking enabled by default. So it can be a good substitute for the current browser - just do not use it as the only browser system.

That said, the developer responsible for Firefox, Brian Bondy, did point out in his personal blog that this is an early version of Firefox, and as such, will have some problems. There is, for example, supports plugins, you can not scroll the page with the mouse wheel and zoom is disabled, among other things. But, as this version is with automatic updating enabled, users will receive these updates immediately.

Mozilla recommends that existing bugs in this release are reported on that page, the same used to request features.
