The devices can be found on Microsoft's official store and are available only for new lines. While all generous offer is welcome, it opens the question: how are the spirits of MS for the sale of his platform?

Rumor: Windows 8 may have function of video chat

Users of Mac OS X can chat via video call by famed FaceTime. With it you can chat with friends and see them through the camera's computer. Now this feature can be in the new version of Microsoft's operating system, Windows 8.

The TechTudo reported last month that Microsoft bought Skype for 8.5 billion dollars and there will be integration of services with the company's products. According to rumors, this integration can happen in Windows 8 already.

The rumors surfaced when the board staff at My Digital Life saw one of the DLLs (Dynamic-Link Libray are pieces of software that are not attached to the original executable and are unique to Windows), called Windows ConsentUX.dll 8, instructions related to Video call:

"100, Do you want to allow to use your% 1% 2?
101, CapabilityName
102, DisplayName
1600, Block
1601, Do you want to allow you to use your video Chatter?
1602, Allow
1603, Always Allow "

In addition, the blogger Manan Kakkar realized that the lock screen of Windows 8 was an icon of a webcam with a seven on the side. This could indicate the number of video calls lost. We can also see an indication of unread messages.

With this, we do not know if it's a video called Windows Live Messenger, as we currently have, or if Skype is already built into Windows 8. Microsoft has not confirmed these rumors and Windows 8 has no release date.

Microsoft unveils Windows 8

During the D9  conference, held in the United States, the president of Microsoft's Windows division has a very interesting revelation. Being interviewed by Walt Mossberg, Steven Sinofsky said the requirements to run Windows will be 8 "or less" to those needed to run the current Windows 7.

According to the executive, Windows 8 - he made it clear that this is just a code name, by the way probably will not name the next version of the system-not rely on any hardware that is already higher than necessary today in terms RAM, disk space and graphics to use Windows.

Sinofsky also confirmed that Windows 8 will be available in both Intel and AMD architectures like the ARM. A clear move toward launching a system that will be compatible with tablets of the future. For the executive, the backward compatibility of applications is assured. In other words, the software that runs on Windows 7 will also run on Windows 8.

During the event, Microsoft has revealed how it will be the new home screen of Windows 8. See below.

We have a look that clearly draws on that presented by Windows Phone 7. Called tiles, blocks of information they give data on social networks, new e-mail, appointments, besides the weather and access to a store, which presumably the Store Windows that Microsoft has been planning.

Windows 8 Is Designed while thinking about tablets

Not only the initial screen will be Windows 8. During the D9  conference, Microsoft unveiled the new Windows interface of the future, which was totally designed to be used on devices with touchscreen technology.

According to the company, these are some of the aspects that we can expect from Windows 8:

Interface with tiles and reporting information in real time applications, such as occurs in Windows Phone 7.

Switching between applications, including automatic resizing of images shown in photo applications and video.

Browser "fully optimized" to touch "with the power of hardware acceleration for Internet Explorer 10.

The company makes clear that the new splash screen, you can see from this post, will take the place of traditional desktop as we know. She will also sometimes start menu (one hell of a paradigm shift, no?).

In the demonstration, Microsoft made it clear that the Windows interface 8 is touch-oriented devices, but the conventional interface of Windows 7 will be available for those who want to use traditional applications that are not ready for this kind of data entry, as the Office (considering the 2010 version, to be clear).

The new interface will work with and without keyboard and mouse with and without. Microsoft hopes to install Windows 8 in laptops, desktops, like all-in-one, and even larger screens using oriented classrooms.

Video
Watch below the video demonstration of Windows 8, released just minutes ago by Microsoft (in English).

It is worth remembering that this is the first time Microsoft goes public to show the new Windows interface of the future. Until now, the company had been doing a lot of mystery about what we should expect the next version of the most used operating system in the world.

Incidentally, note that in the footage above, the blur effect has been placed in certain parts of the wall. I wonder what MS is saving so important?

Windows 8 may have a new file system

Microsoft is working on a replacement for the tired old New Technology File System, or simply NTFS file system created with Windows NT in the 90's and still used today.

Referenced by the codename "protogonos," the new file system was found in the latest leaked build of Windows 8. It remains unclear, however, if the new file system will replace the NTFS or is it merely a complementary subsystem.

According to Mary Jo Foley enthusiasts and Rafael Rivera, the file system "seems to incorporate concepts of database, such as transactions, cursors, lines and tables," which suggests that it may replace or supplement the NTFS.

Remember that Microsoft has tried to introduce a new file system before. The late WinFS, as it became known, came to be publicly presented by Microsoft as a company event as the successor to Windows Vista NTFS, but the proposal never emerged from the laboratories of the company.

The question is whether this time Microsoft is going all the way this time, and if the Protogonos will be ready in time for the release of Windows 8 - what should happen next year. Not to mention that uch information is extra-office, ie, there is no official guarantee that the feature is present in the final version of the system.

Windows Phone 7 reaches 20 thousand apps

When Windows Phone 7 "Mango" was shown last week, Microsoft said that there were 18 000 applications for the system. Seven days later, the WP7 celebrate the important milestone of 20 thousand apps available for immediate download from users. Steve Ballmer smiles, all celebrate.

However, the Neowin shows that the situation is not as beautiful as you paint for us. The growth in number of apps has been done at the expense of the quality of the applications in Microsoft's mobile shop. They found a number of apps that are essentially the same thing, but are listed individually in the Marketplace, which alone inflates the numbers for the WP7.

Microsoft's efforts to attract more developers to the Windows phone so far have been very valid. The company just can not be influenced negatively by such ideas, to replicate applications several times, only to leave the number of apps Marketplace greater.

Although the reviewers of Apple apps are sometimes considered tyrants, they follow a minimum standard of quality consistent with the purpose of the App Store. Microsoft will have to follow a similar path if you want to draw the attention of users. Thousands of apps that do exactly the same thing is not a business card of the most beautiful.

Speaking of the App Store, Apple's store took nearly ten months to reach 20 thousand apps available for download.

Add more functions to MSN Messenger with the new Messenger Plus! Live

MSN instant messenger is a very complete, full of features and functions that make it a favorite among people. But like everything that is good can get better, you need to know Messenger Plus! Live which is now in version 5.0, fully compatible with all versions of Messenger to Windows Live Messenger 2011, as amended.

For those who do not already know, Messenger Plus! is a software developed by Yuna Software that adds extra functionality to the most used messenger in Brazil. Also known as MSN Plus, the program is most used by fans of MSN who feel dissatisfied with the lack of customization options from Microsoft Communicator. There are now over 62 million people, according to the developer! Join this group too!

Appearance

One of the most targeted by those who install Messenger Plus, the computer is the ability to customize the look of Messenger. Newer versions of the messenger to let you change the background image and also the color of the windows, but that's not enough for some users: they want to completely change the program interface. And use the Messenger Plus! Live or MSN Plus Live, to do so.

Several skins, hides the application, can be found on the Internet at no cost. Because the installation is very fast, without taking more than a few clicks, it is quite easy to test various appearances before deciding which is preferable. Or not choose and change the look of the interface with each new day. It is the discretion of the user.

It is also through this software that adding transparency to the windows of MSN Messenger can be defined, where numbers in percentages. For example: leave the chat window with 50% transparency enables read what is in the Messenger, but also lets you view the applications (or wallpaper) behind the program. Setup is quick to make, entirely in Portuguese and the result is displayed in real time.

Abas

Messenger Plus! Live will also add tabs to Live Messenger. An important feature especially for those who hold conversations with many people simultaneously. Instead of having a toolbar full of icons from Windows Messenger, one window is open, with little icons for the various conversations that are happening. Makes the organization easier, since it occupies less space.

Floating windows

Who always keeps in contact with the same people on MSN Messenger will love the floating windows. They are small rectangles with contact names chosen by the user within them. These shortcuts can be dragged to a corner of the screen and are always ahead of any other content, allowing the person to constantly know those contacts are online or offline. When available, the icon next to their name will turn green.

Formatting the extreme

The formatting of text that a user uses the Messenger has always been very limited, since only font and font color could be changed, and the size of the text. With Messenger Plus! the options have increased, including adding new colors to the palette in this application.

In addition, nicknames can be customized with very specific characters and codes that will allow Pudar the color in which the nickname is displayed to other contacts. However, it is necessary that all contacts have Messenger Plus Live! installed, or can not view the nick with the settings determined that the owner of it.

Archive

And how is the beach talking about those who use the messenger, Messenger Plus! creates new forms of conversations are stored in the user's computer. Messenger already has a conventional shape to save records of conversations, but the optional application can save all chat in separate folders by contact name and subfolders with months and years. So it is easy to determine whether an individual has promised something and failed.

All conversations are stored in HTML, the same language used on websites, which ensures that the formatting of fonts will be reproduced even in history that Messenger Plus creates. This file is not limited to text, also records of emoticons, file uploads, special animations (winks) and trading of music, among other things.

The historic event will help anyone who wants to check whether or not particular contact was online on a given day. It will also be able to check changes in status, names and personal messages. Best of the file that stores all this data is XML, which can be viewed via the default browser used to surf the internet.

Get online with multiple accounts

The component "Polygamy" Plus! produces many plays Live Messenger at the same time. It is ideal if you have two service accounts, one for private contacts and another to maintain professional contacts. With Messenger Plus! Live that user can keep both accounts open at the same time.

Custom Status

One advantage of Messenger Plus is able to create specific rules for the display of their status. Besides the already usual "Busy" or "Away" that the application Microsoft offers, Plus helps create new status, including automated messages for each. For example, when creating a status of "Watching TV", you can set up a contact to try to send a message to you get "I was watching television. I go back to 22 hours "as auto-reply message.

Quick Messages

Following the same principle of custom auto messages in status, the messages are texts that can quickly be adjusted beforehand. Once the Messenger Plus supports textual commands in the chat window, the user can type "\ fut" and see who actually sent the text to the caller was "Tomorrow is a football game. In order to go? ". This feature saves time and keyboard, since with fewer keystrokes to send texts gives enormous.

Clean contacts

The more a person has contacts in Messenger, the application takes longer to load. Nothing better, therefore, to do a thorough cleaning and remove all those friends, relatives and hangers that no longer appear on that list deserve more. And who is Messenger Plus will help you in this task: a feature of the program provides statistics of contacts, like last time I was online, the date of the last conversation we had and even if they already dropped from their listings. This makes it easy to decide who goes and who stays.

Hide the browser

Whether for security or privacy issues, Messenger Plus gives you the opportunity to hide the presence of Live Messenger with great rapidity. Through a combination of keys, the MSN Messenger Plus puts in the Windows notification area with an icon above suspicion. Moreover, the application can be locked by password, which only becomes accessible again when a password is entered. Finally, you can still set up so that your contacts receive automatic messages if you need to refer to that component of Messenger Plus! Live.

In hand with the Windows Phone 7 codename Mango

Microsoft is working on new features for Windows 7 Phone Mango. Today during the presentation event of the Mango, the Redmond giant revealed some of the devices that already had the update and some of it translated.

In the pictures of Mango you can see that some items were implemented in Mango inspired by the competing platforms, such as grouping messages. In others, we see that the interface inspired by the Zune worked out nicely for the mobile system and that Microsoft still managed to innovate in some respects.

Windows 7 codename Phone Mango still has an numbering right. Although some sites indicate that it may be a version 7.1 of the system because of its SDK, Microsoft has not confirmed yet what the number is probably why neither the company itself knows. So it may be that ultimately it is the the version 7.5 or 7.1.

But one thing is assured the company that will avoid the fragmentation that plague other mobile ecosystems (COF, COF Android COF, COF), all current smartphones with Windows 7 Phone will receive this upgrade free.

In Brazil, it should arrive before year's end. Because of this, I have devised a conspiracy theory in my head: how Nokia has a good presence in Brazil, and because the agreement with Microsoft, the company has said it will launch at least one smartphone with WP7. So I do not doubt that Nokia pass in front of the LG, HTC and Samsung and be the first to sell a unit with the system here.

Office 15 will use squares scheme similar to the Windows Phone 7

One of the hits Microsoft's Windows  Phone 7 is the interface called Metro IU. The company managed to escape the standard set by Apple and copied by slightly Android. For this we used the famous icons in a square, a technique that is repeated throughout the system. It sounds like they really liked the outcome, the point of wanting to copy it in the conventional computer software.

The next version of Office, which has not been released and has version number 15, adopts the interface of squares in the use of an apparently new feature: photo gallery for the Internet. In a video posted on the Internet can better understand how the feature works.

The photo gallery is created from the application called Moorea for now, that does not exist in earlier versions of the suite. Once your photo is chosen, it automatically creates a web page with a panel on which the user selects the photo you want to see full size. For both, depends on Internet Explorer and an ActiveX control.

Some say that Office 15 will be released along with Windows 8 (other name not confirmed), and therefore will depend on an unprecedented integration between software and operating system. Furthermore, possibly we will focus tablets, a new class of devices that is gaining size month by month. If so, it is reasonable to say that adherence to the interface of WP7 is the most obvious and easy way that Microsoft could take.

Ballmer says new version of Windows Phone will have 500 new features

The development team decided to work on Windows Phone to include much more than half a dozen new features in the new version of Microsoft's mobile operating system. Mango is full of changes and improvements, which in aggregate result in approximately 500 new functions to the user. Who says this is none other than Steve Ballmer, chief executive of the company.

During a conference at the Microsoft Developers Forum in Japan, Ballmer revealed the number of 500 new features that Windows Phone Mango brought. Microsoft has an event scheduled for tomorrow (May 24) in New York, United States, where the company must officially submit the update, showing these innovations in detail.

There are rumors that the Windows Phone Mango should have the services Bing Bing and Audio Vision, and navigation turn-by-Turn service Bing Maps, a new native player for podcasts, the speech recognition system, among others.

Besides this information about Mango, Ballmer also said that the New York event will be unveiled details of manufacturers and carriers that will launch smartphones with this new version, which confirms the rumors that new products will be presented at the event tomorrow. Ie, the Mango does not reach the world alone, and will be accompanied by a host of new devices, such as happened at the launch of Windows Phone, at the end of last year.

While we wait for tomorrow's event, worth checking out the video below, which shows an excerpt from Ballmer's explanation in the conference in Japan.

Windows 8 may be shown next week

On Monday confirmed the participation of Steven Sinofsky - boss appointed by Microsoft to lead the development of Windows - in the ninth edition of All Things Digital conference, where he will be responsible for the first public appearance of so-called Windows 8.

In his presentation, Sinofsky will talk about "the future of Windows in an era of new devices and cloud computing" in the words of the very organization of the event.

In an attempt to combat the wide variety of mobile devices that have appeared there since the current release of Windows 7 *, the next generation of MS operating system is being developed also to run on ARM processors that currently give life to smartphones and slates that are out there. Breaking it aroused jealousy giant Intel, which first sees his longtime partner to open your old Windows for other architectures the war are to be x86.

Since the beginning of the year several screenshots and test versions of Windows 8 have been leaked by the network, but this is the first time that Microsoft will talk about their new product.

Windows 7 grows, but XP remains the most contaminated system from Microsoft

Windows 7 is the subject of much happiness for Microsoft, but it can become a concern in the coming months. As the system has increased its user base, the occurrences of reported vulnerabilities in machines running the company's current system more Steve Ballmer also shoots up.

According to a study released by Microsoft for the second half of 2010, there was a 33% increase in the rate of infected machines running Windows 7 32-bit. In total, there is a ratio of 4 to 1,000 machines infected computers running Windows 7.

Windows 7 64-bit does better in this aspect. The same Microsoft found a proportion of infections of 2.5 machines with this flavor of Windows computers for every 1,000 checked. It may seem little, but it is worth remembering that Windows 7 is installed on millions of PCs around the world (and the trend is increasing more and more, while Microsoft follows the development of Windows 8 - unlikely name of product).

Among the newer Windows systems, XP with Service Pack 2 is still the most problematic. He appears first in the ranking of instances of Microsoft vulnerability, with 19.3 per 1,000 machines problematic. Then again Windows XP, this time with SP3, is 15.9 / 1,000 infected machines.

In general, one can observe that the 64-bit systems record a lower rate of infected machines. This fact is possibly due to two reasons: the peculiarities of 64-bit architecture, which tends to be more complex and less adoption of this technology by users. They are just kicking my own, however.

The funeral of Windows Mobile 6 is already scheduled: July 15

This news is very positive for people who are still using some version of Windows Mobile 6 and Windows 7 Phone, as Microsoft officially decreed that all versions of Windows Mobile 6.x will no longer receive any new application, ie , it marked the date of the funeral and the funeral of your operating system oriented smartphones.

Officially appeared five versions after the release of Windows Mobile 6.0 in February 2007, all with some improvement over the previous version, trying to bring more than fingers on the screen stylus pens. But from the 15th of July this year, Microsoft will no longer accept applications or updates of existing applications for Windows Mobile 6.x.

That does not mean your machine ate operating system will stop working, it just will not receive any more updates or new app, but you can continue buying and downloading apps that do not have, at least for now.

Besides not receiving new applications, the values that are levied by some Windows Marketplace also will not be changed, nor any information posted there may be modified. Will Microsoft now can push all the developers who were in the world of Windows Mobile to the new platform that has existed since October 2010, Windows 7 Phone? That's what the software giant needs to devices with this operating system can finally write good sales figures around the world.

ARM Versions of Windows 8 may be incompatible with the current architecture

Some versions of Windows 8 geared for  ARM structure may be incompatible with the x86 architecture, widely used today. The statement was made by senior vice president of Intel's Renee James. He said the OS will have at least six versions, both ARM and x86, but there may not be full compatibility between them.

"Some instructions can not be emulated on different architectures, but there will be compatibility with all, " explains James. During CES, ran a machine running Microsoft Office on ARM structure. Part of that code had to be rewritten and recompiled.

In terms of architecture is still not very clear what is or is not compatible next-generation processors when it comes to Intel tablets demonstrates that the format did come to stay and said it must provide ten new models at Computex.

The new models are compatible with the Android OS, Windows and MeeGo. Most of the tablets, however, should be available only in Asian markets. The Computex 2011 will begin on May 31 and will be held in Taiwan.

How to Recover Windows Product Key?

I am at this precise moment a client to format a PC with Windows XP that was in need of a fresh-install after several months of intensive (not to be a Windows ...).

After making all the list of currently installed software and backups of personal data, I am faced with a problem: the label sticker on the PC box with the Product Key (also known as Serial Number) Windows is unreadable, which I impossible to re-install the operating system (at least in a 100% legal).

After a simple Google search found ProduKey I solved the problem in seconds.

This program can retrieve the serial numbers of various products, including:

Microsoft Windows 98/ME, 2000, NT, XP, Vista, Server 2003 and some versions of Windows 7;
Microsoft Office 2000 to 2007;
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005;
Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 and 2003;
For ethical and legal use of this software must obviously be carried out only on systems on which the user has authorization to operate.
