Windows Phone 7 reaches 20 thousand apps

When Windows Phone 7 "Mango" was shown last week, Microsoft said that there were 18 000 applications for the system. Seven days later, the WP7 celebrate the important milestone of 20 thousand apps available for immediate download from users. Steve Ballmer smiles, all celebrate.

However, the Neowin shows that the situation is not as beautiful as you paint for us. The growth in number of apps has been done at the expense of the quality of the applications in Microsoft's mobile shop. They found a number of apps that are essentially the same thing, but are listed individually in the Marketplace, which alone inflates the numbers for the WP7.

Microsoft's efforts to attract more developers to the Windows phone so far have been very valid. The company just can not be influenced negatively by such ideas, to replicate applications several times, only to leave the number of apps Marketplace greater.

Although the reviewers of Apple apps are sometimes considered tyrants, they follow a minimum standard of quality consistent with the purpose of the App Store. Microsoft will have to follow a similar path if you want to draw the attention of users. Thousands of apps that do exactly the same thing is not a business card of the most beautiful.

Speaking of the App Store, Apple's store took nearly ten months to reach 20 thousand apps available for download.
