Barnes & Noble presents new Nook and more like the Kindle

In a day of release for Microsoft Windows Phone the bookstore chain Barnes & Noble presented to the market the next generation of e-book reader Nook. It seems that this time, B & N comes up with all the traditional Kindle from Amazon.com.

Nook: Second Generation
The e-book reader has undergone a complete transformation. Now it has more rounded corners, for example, giving an air of detachment to the product. Moreover, the lost color touchscreen display that was his trademark in the first generation of Nook. In this second generation, the monochrome display that uses e-ink technology to display text, is fully touchscreen.

The simplicity is on account of the movements to perform operations on the Nook. In the demo videos released by Barnes & Noble, for example, just tap once on the screen to move to the next page. As with any e-book reader that I value, the settings of text size, typeface etc. remain in the second generation of the Nook.

According to Barnes & Noble, the new display offers a contrast Nook 50% higher than the previous generation. Speaking of display, it is now 6 inches diagonally, one inch less than in the past generation Nook.

The Nook of the second generation has priced $ 139 model with Wi-Fi, the same amount charged by Amazon for those who want to take the Kindle home. The device is currently in pre-sales, with distribution of units scheduled to begin on June 10 in the United States.

I had a first generation Nook and I confess that I did not like the product. The display is excellent and it reproduces very well the pages of a book. My biggest problem was the absence of a bookstore. As much as the B & N offer millions of titles, I could not buy them (in ePub) simply because my Nook was located in Brazil.
