Mark Zuckerberg keeps ban on under 13 on Facebook

If you depend on Mark Zuckerberg, children and adolescents remain barred from Facebook for quite some time. At a conference on Internet and governments in Paris, the cofounder of FB said there were no plans to release social network for the little one under age 13.

The statement clarifies a standpoint of Zuckerberg still unclear. He had said last week, also during a lecture that regulations make it difficult for children to create accounts on Facebook.

This time, the CEO was more emphatic in comment. He said it is not a corporate priority to children under 13 can create accounts in social networks. "I think it makes sense that at some point in the future, we explore this, but we're working on this one," he told Reuters.com.

The Facebook terms of service prevent children and teenagers to create accounts on social network. This is a ploy often used to avoid legal problems later, as the head of department is required to filter the content of the pages presented to minors, a kind of virtual indicative rating.

The same goes for Orkut, including Brazil. By filling out the form to create a profile on the social network, one of the first things that Orkut is the question of the person's birth date. Younger than 13 years give the guy with the message pictured above. Of course, if the subject lie, can quietly create the account.
