ASUS announces Padfone

I admire companies that thinks outside the box, take risks in different formats than we're used to seeing. Proving that has plenty of imagination in the minds of its engineers, ASUS today announced the Padfone, a kind of tablet that spits a smartphone inside. That turns a smartphone or tablet after it receives a very large attachment. Understand better the images below.

The company has a preview of what you want to advertise during COMPUTEX 2011, a technology event which takes place this week in Taiwan, China. One of the Padfone was officially announced, among a batch of laptops, monitors, computers and all-in-one.

We do not know many details of it yet, only that the tablet's screen size is 10.1 inch as standard, the smartphone's camera is 5 megapixels and its screen is 4.2 inches. See details of creating the design of Padfone the video below and watch out for 1:35 minutes in which Internet Explorer (???) makes a cameo.

There is no official word on the system yet, but if Android can be both a Honeycomb (3.1) as the Ice Cream Sandwich, which still has a number associated with it. Or it may be a Windows 7 Phone, if Internet Explorer in the video above is true. We'll know more later this week.
