Acer Android Tablet to be launched in July

Acer would not stay out of contention tablet market. It is hardly surprising that rumors of a possible launch of a tablet of the company are growing stronger. Now, combine these rumors with official information from Intel that possible with their tablets Android processors hit the market later in 2011, we note that the Digitimes reported today. According to the portal, Acer plans to launch in July a tablet with Android, the platform with Intel's Oak Trail.

In a note published by Digtimes, Acer should show a tablet on the market with Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb), with 10-inch screen, and the aforementioned processor platform with the Oak Trail. The month of listing (in July) is the same month that happens to Computex, one of the great international exhibitions of technology. Therefore, the chances of that happening during the event announcement is great.

Acer is increasingly turning to the side of Google products to launch Android. Not long ago they released their first netbook market with Android, and how the advances of Microsoft in the world of tablets is slow, and the partnership with Intel is solid, not surprising news of the possible launch of a tablet with this platform.

The Digitimes also reports that, on the other hand, Microsoft itself seems to prefer to rely on Lenovo and Asus as partners in the development of new products, especially in the x86 operating system. Finally, there are also rumors that Acer would be testing the MeeGo Oak Trail with processors, not very clear what the objectives of these tests. Tablets with MeeGo? Tablets with dual boot? Acer Smartphones MeeGo with the system? Only time will tell.
