Apple plans to release the update for Mac OS to remove Mac Defender

And here's more proof that no operating system is immune to threats. To help users who accidentally installed the threat "MAC Defender" on their hardware, Apple plans to release a Mac OS update that removes the worm, by eliminating table headache for users and support staff of the company.

The MAC Defender began to attack users of Mac OS at the beginning of May, which generated an overwhelming increase in calls to call centers AppleCare. The more "weird" all this is that Apple's attendants have been instructed not to support customers to remove malware, fearing the consequences of a more radical change in the system, thus creating even greater problems.

The update that Apple should launch will detect the presence of MAC Defender and its variants in devices with Mac OS X and remove them simply. The update also promises to warn users about links that might lead to Mac Defender.

The information comes from an update statement on the Mac Rumors site, done by the support team of Apple. The nature of this update is very similar to the system that Microsoft has adopted to strengthen protection of their operating systems through the Tool Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, which is delivered monthly to users via Windows Update. Through these small packages, the utility can scan the system, removing malware and malware that are infecting users' PCs.
