4G networks will come first in World Cup cities of Brazil


While outside 4G networks have proliferated like rabbits in mating season, in Brazil telecoms still crawling. But Arthur Coimbra, Director of the Department of Broadband Communication Ministry said that the G1's auction of 4G band will begin soon and that the first cities that will rely on the technology will be those that will host matches of World Cup in 2014.


Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador and Sao Paulo, among others, should already have their networks running before the event, the director assures.
