I would imagine that since it had a target painted on the CB, Sony would be more careful with their servers. I thought at least top executives would send a memo warning the world to the other branches check up if the servers are running the newest versions of all software installed. But no. Sony was hacked. Again.
This time, the Greek site of Sony BMG, the arm that handles the music studios of the company, was attacked. The person responsible for the invasion, a hacker named b4d_vipera, managed to enter the server at the beginning of several months and capture information from the database. But it was only yesterday that the hacker posted the information he could procure, including usernames, full names and email addresses of over 8000 registered users on the site.
Chester Wisniewski, security company Sophos, says that it is virtually impossible for a company the size of Sony remain completely secure web site. Therefore, "we can see in the future one or several successful attacks against servers from Sony, " says Wisnieswski.
I am biased to agree.
