PSP 3000 Review

Discuss what console gaming is better is almost like talking about football. Yes, we have numbers, data, graphs, tests and a lot of publicity involved in both cases, but there is something more than speculate that makes its adherents have tended to defend himself, even in defeat, their team. Or video games. For lovers of the Sony platform who want to take anywhere from a little experience you have at home, the PSP (or PlayStation Portable) is undoubtedly a temptation hard to escape.

We are talking about the third generation PSP, the PSP is rated model 3010, which presents some changes to the popular PSP 2000 (Slim). Among the major innovations are: the new LCD screen - which offers higher brightness and contrast balance, and give more life to the colors - and the inclusion of a built-in microphone to use Skype integrated. Moreover, we are talking about the good old PSP Slim, with its good range of games titles of respect and functions to occupy their time between one day and another game. The second generation continues to be a highlight, legitimate copy of a giant in the universe of gamers.

Screen
One significant change, although controversial, was the upgrade in screen, now a LCD with higher color definition, while at the same resolution and size. There was also an increase in the velocity update. The most noticeable result is a considerable improvement in brightness and contrast, and color gain, more vivid compared to predecessors.

Games
The PSP 3000 has the same variety of games for a Playstation 2 or 3, yet the amount of securities available not lacking. With some adjustments and other exceptions, the great classics of the family of Sony's consoles are available in portable version. The big problem remains the price, well above the accessible. In Brazil the games still cost much more than the rest of the world.

Design and construction
The joystick for the Playstation consoles are not unanimous. For the PSP the lack of two analog controls and the R2 and L2 buttons can cause estrangement. Compared to their predecessors the PSP 3000 comes with some improvements like the design of the buttons "Select" and "Start", easier to press, as well as changing the button "Home" to "PS" like the Playstation 3.
The d-pad also has a small change in design, facilitating the press. Moreover, the design is the same as the PSP 2000, without any visible change, except through the hole in microphone and the new design on the cover of the UMD tray.

Processor and storage
The PSP 3000 carries the same MIPS R4000 processor with 333 MHz of its predecessors, but features an improved item memory jumping from 32 to 64 MB. The data storage media and can be done via Memory Stick Pro DUO, although the games can only be run via UMD.

Extra functions
One of the changes introduced in the PSP 3000 is the inclusion of a built-in microphone, which facilitates the integrated use of Skype. Although navigation is not a highlight, the console comes with a Wi-Fi 802.11b.

Other interesting features are:
- The ability to play videos, music and photos;
- The sharing of games in multiplayer mode;
- And the ability to purchase games via the PlayStation Store.

Battery
Although it has lost about 10% of its autonomy with the new screen, the original 1200 mAh battery does a good job if the use is restricted to games. Rarely will you take in hand, because probably your eyes or fingers "ask water" before the battery. But if you can play more than 4 or 5 hours straight you can purchase a 2200 mAh and extend the fun for some time without problems.
