Celebrity Twitterers may bore fans, says survey

Celebs bombarding their fans with messages on Twitter are likely to have shorter careers than the artists who maintain a certain aura of mystery, according to a survey conducted by the company Bauer Media.

Easy access to the stars through social networks makes them less attractive and increases the possibility that the "followers" to fill "of the idols, according to the survey along with music consumers.

"In this era of social media is all too easy to follow your musical icons to the minute. There is a consensus within the industry that this ease of access is leading artists to lose appeal quickly, " the study said.
Therefore, the report added, the music industry is considering restricting access to certain types of artists in an attempt to keep them in evidence in popular culture and prolong their careers.

While younger fans are happy to be able to have constant access to idols, older respondents said they miss the time when artists were "more special".

"Meet the bands no longer requires ten hours waiting at the door of the show today - you can buy a day with your favorite band. But the separation can be good - knowing too much can kill rock stars, " said Nichola Browne former editor of music magazine Kerrang!
