Lenovo IdeaPad A1, a 7-inch tablet with Android

Lenovo announced on Thursday (1) the IdeaPad A1, a 7.7-inch tablet that runs Android. If you are looking for a cheap alternative to the iPad, the new Lenovo tablet can be a great option. Outside, the most basic version of the gadget will cost only $ 199 (around $ 320), occupying the position of the tablet with the most cost-effective market.

In its simplest model, the Lenovo's tablet will have Wi-Fi and 8GB of internal storage. If space is insufficient, adding another $ 50 to the account you can make a nice upgrade. The 16 GB version goes for $ 249 (just over $ 400). A 32 GB version will also be available for $ 299 (£ 480).

On the issue of hardware, the IdeaPad A1 provides the basics: Cortex A8, a single-core 1 GHz ARM, two cameras (the back of 3 MP and a front for video conferences, with 0.3 MP) and GPS. The screen, as already noted, is 7.7 inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 600.

The main weakness of the tablet is the operating system. Although the IdeaPad A1 turn one of the most popular systems for tablets and smartphones, it does not use the latest version of Android. Lenovo opted for Android 2.3, Honeycomb probably not upgrade to the system version of Google dedicated to tablets.

If you were interested, the bad news is that Lenovo IdeaPad not released when the A1 will be launched in the country. When you get (get) to store shelves, the tablet will be available in black, white, blue and pink. Let's wait and hope!
