BitDefender provides free anti-malware to Twitter


The Twitter service may seem harmless, but it always depends on what users do with it. To protect Internet users, BitDefender is releasing a security solution specific to microblogging. called Safego , the application ensures that the user will not click on anything that puts your machine (and information) at risk.



The version of Safego Twitter - also has to Facebook, the social network used in the world - has the function more obvious that you could imagine. Each new follower is analyzed by the BitDefender system in order to detect those who are considered spammers.
 
The same goes for Direct Messages (DMs) received through this social media. The same software does a scan of the links in the message. If you have something there that could lead to a virus, phishing scam or something as bad as the Safego immediately warns the user.

Just do not think the application is pushy. He does not block the user to be followed by spammers or DMs that arrive in your inbox. Instead (which is usually expected of a common virus such as AVG Internet Security announced today), the DM sends another Safego with alert informing the user that given at sign or message is dangerous.

To use the software just get in your page and allow access to the Twitter data through the procedure OAuth. Depending on the number of followers, and followed by messages that you have in your Twitter account, you may take the initial diagnosis to appear.
