Apple is preparing diagnostic system for iPhone

Apple announced a new service internally to make life easier for technical assistance for iPhone. Instead of running for a position authorized when the smartphone gives problem, consumers may eventually be in the comfort of their own home and access a site that makes any diagnosis of what is happening with the appliance.

When entering a specific Internet address of the iPhones Safari present in the cell would be redirected to an online diagnostic service. This system was supposed to be able to do various checks on the smartphone to define what are the causes of device malfunction apple.

Of course, Apple does not confirm anything related to the subject

The following checks could (theoretically, mind you) be made with the new system:

UDID of the device.
IOS version installed.
Battery information, like last time it was recharged and time it takes to arrive at 100%.
Lower percentage of the battery when the phone was off.
The unit has been shut down properly.
If the idea is true and right, Apple could easily save a few caraminguás that currently passes for the Genius, who make their employees assistance in stores, and for providing technical support for the company.

With this information in hand, the company would contact the consumer (if it authorizes such contact) to give instructions before actually refer you to some assistance.

The TNW even raises the possibility of Apple using the system to detect whether the iPhone JailBreak passed. Feel free - we're talking about Apple.
