Microsoft has just achieve another milestone: 25,000 applications registered in the Windows Marketplace Phone. And best of all is that about half of the applications are free. Makes less than a year that the Marketplace was launched, it means he is doing very well, after all, not even Windows Phone popularized.
Statistics from the Marketplace has been monitored by the Windows Phone applist. According to the site, there are now 25,018 applications available, with 1,947 applications in the last two weeks. However, the rival Windows Phone applist the WP7applist, states that have not yet passed the 25 000 applications, then with a count of 24,784.
25 000 applications being or not, the number is very close. What matters is to realize rapid growth of the large number of apps for the mobile system from Microsoft, at the end of March the Marketplace had about 11,500 applications, and has grown to more than 18,000 when the new Windows Marketplace was announced, at the end of May.
In October last year, the launch of WP7, there were only 1,000 applications to choose from, but now Microsoft claims it has more than 40,000 registered developers and about 100 new applications are submitted per day.
Apple App Store and Android Market are also growing sharply in recent months and with a constant rate. This is because the world is suffering a big "boom" of mobile devices with multiple tablets and smartphones that are released almost every day. With a high demand, developers end up producing more for mobile platforms. The advantage is that if you want to change platform, will probably find the same applications you used on another operating system, there are very few cases of proprietary applications.
