Google creates tool to monitor your online reputation

The curious that already had at least an ounce of vanity has conducted what is called in English "vanity search", search for a name to view web pages that return a result. So you can see what people say about you or what web pages are associated with your name. Google knows that many people do this and decided to automate this process with the tool Me on the Web

Yesterday Google released the Dashboard tool allows users with Google accounts create alerts and receive alerts by e-mail when your name, e-mail or other information are posted on the web. Not exactly something new, since Google Alerts is already a very popular tool and used around the world, Google will only pre-defined alerts and facilitated their activation in the Dashboard.

In addition, this section also gives tips on how to protect your personal web pages and also how to delete their results with information that you may not be public. In an era in which privacy is something that few people care about protecting, it's good to see Google bothering to show how important it is.

Which is not to say that someday the company will not dominate the world and spread your information out there.
