Samsung has announced it will launch a solar-powered netbook in August. According to Samsung, is the first netbook NC215S with this technology in the world, and the solar panel was placed in front of the device, making it easier to capture.
Because it is a netbook you should have guessed that it is not so powerful, especially for being powered by the sun. But on the contrary, Samsung surprised with the specifications of this model. Weighing 1.3 kg and with the Windows 7 installed, it has the Atom processor N570 1.6GHz dual-core processors from Intel, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and a display with a resolution of 1024 x 600.
In addition it has a function called Samsung Samsung Fast Start System, which causes your computer to start with a top speed compared to the other, and the Sleep and Charge feature, which you can connect multiple USB devices to your netbook and using not only the solar panel to charge the battery, but also to divert some of that load to the battery of devices connected to it.
The battery is also surprising, it has an estimated range of 14.5 hours with the monitor.
Unfortunately, Samsung only said that the NC215S will be released in Russia, she gave no word on a possible release in other countries, but also not ruled out. The Russians will have to spend about 13,999 rubles, somewhere around 850 reais (without taxes).
