Even with Google Plus, orkut still on active duty

With the creation of Google +, a new tactic of Google's social network, many people wondered whether this would be the end of orkut. After all what kind of company would maintain two similar services competing for user attention? Apparently Google is such an organization. According to a description of Google +, orkut will keep it going even with the new network.

In fact, orkut will not only continue as a product of Google also will feature Google + integrated into it. According to a notice placed on the page only in Portuguese of the new social network, "as the [...] Orkut has been very successful, our goal is to extend the new features for Google + Orkut users as they become available."

Among the possible features that may migrate are called Circles, Sparks and hangouts, we describe fully in another post. The notice also says that "Google will continue to work on enhancements and features for both Orkut and Google + for the project, as both are very important for users."
