Microsoft Patents method of detecting age (and restrict content) with Kinect

Today  a Microsoft patent that was revealed and it has high chances of being released as a feature to help parents of children to control what their children can watch on TV.

The patent revealed this week shows that the company created a detection method that uses 3D cameras age, possibly even Kinect. Through this method would be possible to estimate how old a person is using proportions of body, height, distance between the shoulders, head size, and other features, something that the very Kinect is already able to do by telling a good tracking system joints. And from that discovery would leave other features, most specifically the restriction of adult content on TV, if Kinect detects a person under 18 years for example.

Certainly there is the possibility of false positives happen, as in the case of elderly people with dwarfism, but with an administrator password would be possible to unlock the content as is already happening today. This new method only put one more barrier of protection for those smarter teenagers who already know how to circumvent the restriction password.
