Acer announces ultrabooks Aspire Timeline Ultra M5

Acer announced on Wednesday (20) the new Aspire Timeline Ultra ultrabooks M5 in the U.S. market. The manufacturer says that they really are ultrabooks, but the specs show little compact notebook: the most basic model starts with 14-inch screen and more powerful version reaches 2.3 kg heavier.

According to the Taiwanese, all models have a thickness of 2.06 cm and battery life of 8 hours. Acer also implemented its Green Instant On technology, which takes ultrabook from standby in less than 2 seconds. The biggest difference is in performance: they have Intel Core third generation and can be equipped with a video card from Nvidia.

The youngest only costs U.S. $ 679.99, but also has a killer hardware so. Its specifications are summed up to a 14-inch screen with 1366 × 768, Intel Core i3-2377M 1.5 GHz (yes, second generation), 6 GB of DDR3 memory and Intel HD Graphics 3000.

As the most basic model, the intermediate version weighs 1.95 kg and has the same 14-inch screen, but inside the housing is an Intel Core i5-3317U 4 GB of DDR3 memory and a GeForce GT640M LE with 1 GB of VRAM. The M5-6814-481TG is relatively affordable compared to other ultrabooks, costing U.S. $ 779.99.

The maximum performance can be achieved with the release of U.S. $ 829.99, which includes 6 GB of DDR3 RAM, Intel Core i5-3317U, GeForce GT640M LE and has a little portable screen of 15.6 inches. Thought it strange? Well let me tell you it weighs 2.3 kg and also has optical drive to read DVDs but they swear it is a ultrabook.

The Timeline Ultra ultrabooks M5 come with hybrid hard drive of 500 GB with 20 GB of flash memory to speed up booting Windows 7, backlit keyboard, speakers optimized for Dolby Home Theater and two USB 3.0 ports.

Acer has given special attention to safety ultrabooks. The models feature the Intel Anti-Theft, which allows the user to disable the machine remotely if lost or stolen without an internet connection. The manufacturer also included Acer antitheft, which can trigger a siren if the ultrabook is taken for more than 3 meters of a WiFi router looks great for Brazil, but there is no information available here. In the United States, Timeline Ultra M5 goes on sale in late June.
