Chrome For IOS - First Impressions

Arrives in App Store, after much waiting, the first version of Chrome for iPhone, iPhone and iPod Touch. The application is freely available to anyone with IOS version 4.3 or higher. Here in the newsroom did some initial tests with the browser on the iPhone to tell you how  it is the likely replacement of Safari for many of us.

Chrome for iPhone
The interface of Chrome for iOS remember at all what we've come to the computer (with minor differences depending on the OS of our choice). The traditional superintelligent that combines address bar, history and search remains flawless also in Apple's mobile platform. Chrome is based on iOS tabbed browsing - they are at the top of the application, with the possibility of moving them or closed with one touch of a finger. Pretty simple and practical, as it should be.

Login with Google Account
Early on, when first running app, Chrome opens a login screen to what you already suspected what was in the browser for iPhone / iPhone: synchronize user data with what was stored in the Chrome browser for PCs This is Smart and log into their accounts automatically. Google in particular, that allow open and get to your Gmail inbox, without having to put username and password. Details: with Gmail loaded in particular look for mobile devices.

Favorite computer
Press the button to create new tab leads to a screen with several options: the most visited sites, bookmarks and other devices. The first option is obvious and needs no comments. "Bookmarks" (my iPhone is in English), in turn, opens the favorites saved face on the mobile device. Click on "Bookmarks" again to access the sites you've stored on your computer at home or work. There are all favorites that usually appear in the bookmarks bar of Chrome for desktop / notebook. One touch and come to the page in question.

I have no doubt that the cloud Google works at full throttle to keep the user information (linked to the Google account) properly synchronized, no matter the device. That alone is sufficient for me to replace the Safari browser by Google without much thought. After all, the engine for viewing pages is the same, although the Safari Mobile has some advantages which makes it faster than others.

Tabs open elsewhere with Chrome running
I almost forget to talk about the third option for a new tab, also a very interesting feature: "other devices" lists which tabs are open in Chrome that may be running on other machines using your login. Here I found that I left the same tabs open on my personal MacBook at home are available, as well as the tabs in Chrome running on the computer work. The iOS app shows the computer name and the sites. If you close your browser, this option automatically disappears on the screen of "other devices".

Resources
Caught my attention the microphone icon in the address bar. Press it does carry a balloon that asks the user to speak. What he says to the device turns into a Google search automatically. Around here, even with the English iOS enabled, the browser took me to research in Portuguese. The terms "meeting with Fatima" and "how to unlock nokia" were easily understood. Words more complicated, as the name of this humble scribe, can not be recognized by the intelligent Google. He is intelligent, but not enough to be infallible.

Search for "how to unlock nokia" voice
The toolbar has some interesting features. Many young readers should take the windows Tecnoblog "unknowns" in iPhone content to visit, say, not suitable for their age without the app save the record. Changing from traditional navigation with login for navigation "unknown" depends on a tap on the icon that sits in the upper right corner of the browser. Close the last tab "unknown" to end the session.

Incognito window
Important to say that Chrome does not block sites that save their tracking information in the local storage device due to a technical charge. This alert appears on the first tab with the way "incognito" enabled.

Performance
For here was a performance containing. YouTube videos into other sites are reproduced without problems, like in Safari itself.
