Google Ends AdSense for Feeds and simplifies other services

Here's some news that may annoy bloggers: Google decided to close the AdSense for Feeds program, which helped webmasters to earn a few cents for the placement of ads in their RSS feeds. It's another blow to FeedBurner feeds publishing service launched in 2004 by Dick Costolo, Twitter's current CEO.

There is also speculation about the end of FeedBurner. The service has gained virtually no news since it was bought by Google in 2007, and several facts indicate its death.  Now Google has killed the only feature of FeedBurner which was still bringing some profit to the company.

Google removes some features and services used by the public. Not everyone knows, but you can choose a background on your Google homepage - at least until November, when the feature will be removed. The comparison between traffic websites on Google Trends will no longer be possible. And the Central Webmasters have no further monitoring of +1 Google+.

A small change will affect users who do not pay for extra space on Google: today, Picasa provides 1GB of storage space for photos and more Drive offers 5 GB to store any type of file. In the coming months, the space will be consolidated: 5 GB will be for both services.

These innovations, according to Google, will allow the company to focus on "doing more to help improve the products that millions of people use several times a day" - that is, spending time in worthwhile. More information about the features are removed from the official Google blog.
