Samsung confirms smaller version of the Galaxy S III

Let's be honest: the Galaxy S III is great. Very big. With 4.8 inch screen, who has small hands need to juggle to use the device with one hand. But there was still hope for these people: in recent weeks there were several rumors of a possible Galaxy S III Mini. And now Samsung has confirmed the existence of this smartphone, which will be announced tomorrow.

The boss of Samsung Mobile, JK Shin, said this morning, with all the letters, which the Korean manufacturer plans to launch a Galaxy S III minor: "We will launch a Galaxy S III 4 inches on the 11th in Germany," said Shin during a press conference in South Korea at The Verge also got a confirmation advice from Samsung.

Shin said that "there is a great demand for a device with 4-inch screen in Europe." The executive also hinted that it is not a smartphone entry, but a version of "mini" top of your phone line. This can change the strategy of other companies, who think that a phone "small" must have inferior hardware.

But still not a reason to celebrate. The CEO of Samsung has not yet revealed any details beyond the screen size, and new rumors indicate that ... well, it will not be as powerful as the Galaxy S III. The German Mobile Geeks site claims to have achieved such a picture of Galaxy S III Mini, model GT-i8190:

The leaked specifications of the device, which will be sold for 399 euros in Germany are: ST-Ericsson U8420 processor dual-core 1 GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion by ), 1,500 mAh battery and screen Super AMOLED 4-inch resolção with 800 × 480 pixels. The system is the Jelly Bean.

I really hope these specs are false - would be nice to have the same hardware as Galaxy S III, changing only the screen size. With this hardware, it is just a Galaxy S II worsened and new housing. What is the difficulty of powerful smartphones and small, anyway?
