Chrome beats Firefox in Brazil


In leadership, Internet Explorer. However, as the second most used browser in Brazil during the month of May brings big surprises: first, Mozilla Firefox is no longer the second choice of the Brazilians, who now have been overtaken by Google Chrome.


In May, the Internet Explorer alone responded for 45.79% of all use this type of application in Brazil. The browser has remained above 45% since the beginning of the year.

Secondly, Google Chrome concentrated 26.84% of browser users in the country. Last month, the same Chrome accounted for 25.82% of the use of browsers. In turn, Mozilla Firefox fell from second position in April 2011 with 26.93% usage, up to third place in May, with 26.08%.

In the national ranking, we still have Safari, Apple's 0.74% with the use of browsers, and Opera, the company of the same name, with 0.41% of the accessions.

This change observed in the Brazilian market by StatCounter browser is not reflected in overall usage statistics browser. In May, the Internet Explorer browser remained the world's most used (43.87%), followed by Mozilla Firefox (29.29%). Google Chrome appears a distant third with 19.36% usage on the planet.

Overall, both IE and Firefox have shown overall decline in the use of browsers over the months, while Google's initiative in this market grew by almost 4 percentage points from January to May 2011.
