WebOS might be released for other manufacturers, says HP

Jon Rubenstein, vice president of the powerful HP, said "there is a possibility " that its WebOS not be limited only to the company's products and can be released for "special partner" to settle in their own devices.

The revelation took place late on Tuesday (31/05) during a presentation of the executive in a conference organized by Qualcomm.

"We're not announcing anything today, and today our business model is not to be a licensing company. But clearly there is a tremendous force that can build an entire ecosystem to deliver a unified experience, "he added, making clear that there are no immediate plans to release platform acquired with the purchase of the Palm in April last year for $ 1.2 billion .

Then, to demonstrate the HP TouchPad, said that "people will love its ability to connect with other devices - not just a single device, but several devices that will be able to interact with each other and with the cloud. They may be other tablets, PCs, printers and more, "he concludes, without giving predictions on when the unit may make an appearance in stores.
