Almost a direct Windows Movie Maker on YouTube

Not always that video you made in haste with your camera phone out with the best picture: blurred, unsatisfactory lighting and lack of color are examples of common mistakes that can paint in home production. Fortunately YouTube has a public commitment to help improve these videos. On Thursday the company just announced a new tool for corrections in uploaded videos.

"Edit Video"
The new tool works well for movies yet to be uploaded to YouTube as to the contents available on the site long ago. To drive it, just click the button labeled "Edit video" that will appear in the pages of videos - unless you're using the experimental interface Cosmic Panda, which still does not give access to the resource.

When you open the screen video editing will find various settings for your videos. Right away we have a stabilizer for shaky recordings - Google Research, a research center of the company, even published a paper (PDF) describing how the system works, which saves a lot of processing servers YouTube.

Still have to modify the image by rotating it left or right, to set the orientation (right at the times they recorded with the phone the wrong way). If the video does not begin and end in the appropriate moments, the ability to cut gives a chance to correct this by defining a timeline that is displayed to Internet users on YouTube. Not to mention the picture adjustments: fill light, contrast, saturation and temperature of the image.

At least in my experience changing the video settings a bit slow to appear on the screen. In professional applications such changes are simultaneous, then you kind of already have to know what to do. Or click the "I'm Feeling Lucky", which automatically corrects it all according to parameters determined electronically.

The second tab of the video editing tool is the coolest. There are the effects to add in the video. These are basic things, but they are a joy that student media in his first contact with advanced editing software. It has black and white, sepia, pixelated, similar image of the cartoon, and pink neon, whose name explains much of the disaster that is coming with the next click, among others.

To complete the audio tab to insert a new soundtrack in the video. I may be wrong, but I think I've seen this feature available when the video contains audio from third parties that can not be played on the Google video site. Instead of simply taking the air the video, the user can choose a song to put over the entire audio.

Before and after
I got an old video, made during the test Windows 7 Phone without any editing. Watch below.

And edit it, correcting the video settings, adding effects and even putting a new music track over the audio of me talking about the system. See there.

You enjoyed the result? Give your opinion in the comments of this text. For my part, I think that Google is launching a Windows Movie Maker directly to YouTube. The editing tool fulfills many of the features of the most basic video editor that exists in the market (and with the ease of not having to install anything on the machine).

The YouTube video that explains modified with up to 1,000 views can be exchanged for the old version of the modified version immediately. For those with more than a thousand views there is need to save the video as if it were a new upload, the date of transmission is marked as the day of issue.

And best of all: the original version of the video is saved on Google servers. If for some reason you regret having used neon pink, just go on your list of videos and restore.
