Know the Central Online Program of Ubuntu

For those who always wanted to know which applications have to download Ubuntu without even being on a machine with Ubuntu, Canonical has recently released an online version of the Central Program, which allows you to navigate through the programs available in the official repositories.

Does this mean a future Central Program completely in the cloud?

Initially, the Center Programs Online seems to be just a catalog of Ubuntu, where you can browse through several categories of applications or search for a specific program. That alone is an interesting feature, because then you can know in advance whether a specific program is available in Ubuntu, even without having to be running the system at the time (for example, a company or a friend's house).

Now, if you're browsing the site while running Ubuntu, the site will ask you to install the program you are viewing (otherwise, it just shows the link to download Ubuntu). It is still possible to also select other versions of programs for older distros.

Just the ease of install packages on the site, a question hangs in the air: Is the Canonical thinking of creating an online repository of applications in the same mold Store to Android Market? Making an integration with other technologies and Ubuntu One Canonical's own, is not hard to imagine a scenario where you could check the site itself a program to download in not just one but several computers at once. It would be paradise for system administrators, and a step and both Ubuntu.
