Kindle Fire outsells iPad in Best Buy

Many have tried, but fell to Kindle Fire for being the first tablet to see their sales exceed those of the famous iPads in a large retail store in the U.S..

The feat took place on the website of Best Buy, where the small tablet of Amazon, which went on sale just over two weeks and available in single version to consumers, came in ahead of the powerful iPad 2 16 GB WiFi black.

However it is not yet time to declare the end of the reign of the gadget created by Steve Jobs. Adding sales of other tablets of the apple variety, the crown of best-selling Best Buy site back to Apple, since, together, the other versions of the model still displaces its small rival.

Although there is not a great achievement, this is the first time Apple sees a competitor having some real success in the niche market that helped popularize with the release of iPad original in April 2010.

Not that such performance Kindle Fire is exactly a surprise. At $ 199, on his first day of pre-sales model had 95 000 units reserved on Amazon mother. In the weeks after the company went on to say that selling "Kindles by 2000 hours," which he had made about 250,000 units reserved at the beginning of your sales that took place last November 15.

Last week, Amazon released a statement saying that sales of the Kindle family of devices had "increased by 800%" over the same period last year, driven mainly by the Fire.
