Lumia is not good enough to suborn Android and iPhone, says agency

"No one comes to a store looking for a Windows Phone." This is an account executive for a telecom operator in Europe a unique story, without revealing sources, says Reuters. The news agency reports that Nokia devices in particular Lumia  710, 800 and 900, disappointed in a survey of major telecom leaders of the old continent.

The article signed by Leila Abboud and Georgina Prodhan raises a number of points that put the main focus of Nokia's mobile system from Microsoft in doubt. In summary, Reuters says that "the bet to challenge the dominance of the iPhone and Android has failed to convince phone operators in Europe."

In the text, the same source that gives the statement that opens this article reads: "If Lumias with the same hardware, come with Android instead of Windows, it would be much easier to sell them." Although the Nokia sales reporting festive line Lumia, the same company has warned that shareholders can expect a performance more or less when you leave the next financial results.

Another executive, another European operator, on condition of anonymity said it would be good for companies in the sector is the dominance of Apple were reduced. This resignation around the apple company is due to the bargains that Tim Cook and his team impose on operators, as the number of devices that must be purchased and the profit margin that practice as well as the subsidies offered to customers.

Even with the complicated relationship in the face of Apple, operators are consulted by the agency say that Nokia has disappointed in some ways. For example, when launching the Lumia 800 with battery problems (solved by a recent software update). They also say that the products are priced above the average, since they are not exactly innovative.

According to Reuters, operators pay somewhere between 600 and 700 euros, while the Samsung smartphones running Android come out in the range of 300 to 500 euros. The agency says the Lumias cost about 220 euros in the last quarter.

In fact, the path chosen by Nokia is not the easiest. The Windows Phone - Read the Miniblog Opening windows with our personal experiences of using the system - comes to market after the iPhone and Android had a dominant market position. To complete, the products are not innovative (an opinion which I share with the executives cited) and seem to cost a lot in the European market. Yeah, Stephen Elop, this time complicated.

The information I have from Nokia Brazil is that the release of Lumia was one of the largest in company history in this tropical country and certainly the largest in recent years. The question remains how is the selling of Lumias in stores and on the operators.
