Microsoft released Kinect SDK for Windows 7 PCs

Kinect has incredible potential for new applications, but still untapped with the permission of Microsoft, responsible for the product. On Thursday, the company has eased things a bit to release the SDK for Windows 7 Kinect. From now on, anyone with a computer running Windows 7 could test the features of the gadget and create new ways to interact with applications.

According to the company, Kinect SDK was designed to give more tools to the community of developers, researchers, academics and technology enthusiasts. They will be able to create new experiences by the depth sensor tracking system of human movement, voice recognition and object recognition in Kinect present.

This release opens a new range of possibilities. Microsoft is crystallizing Kinect as a gadget that goes beyond the Xbox 360. With the device connected to your computer will know what those people will not invent, for example, when Windows 8 out at the end of next year. The interface is touch, but who says it can not be controlled "by air" with Kinect?

The Kinect SDK for Windows 7 is free and can be downloaded from this page. It is important to note that this release should be used only for non-commercial purposes. Microsoft has not officially released Kinect for other use other than the trial of the floodplain. The software has support for C + +, Visual Basic and C # (with Visual Studio 2010).

And by the way: all the source code remains proprietary. After all, we are talking about Microsoft.
