The 14.1-inch LCD screen with resolution of 1,280 by 800 pixels, has a good size. To view the movies on display, for example, is very enjoyable. The notebook is available in dimensions of 334 mm wide by 26 mm high by 241 mm deep and weighs 2.35 kg

The robust keyboard, then construct a durable plastic, has large buttons that allow a comfortable typing. The multimedia controls, which are sensitive to the touch and are located on the right, gives a great usability to the unit. Through them, the user can control video and music, equalize the sound, adjust the level for low frequencies, among other things.

In our tests, for the audio, the Y430 is not let down. The 2.5 watt subwoofer gives a good improvement in sound quality of the notebook. However, when we listen to music at full volume, the audio was somewhat distorted. The notebook did well to run Photoshop CS3 and display videos in high definition.

Battery

The battery life of the Lenovo IdeaPad Y430 us very disappointed. In our tests, with access to the Internet via Wi-Fi, playing music and performing tasks in Office software, the notebook just endured for about 70 minutes, very short time for a laptop.
