Apple celebrates 15 billion downloads in the App Store

Joy, joy. Steve Jobs must be really pleased to announce that the App Store hit another record. The company issued a statement on Thursday in which he states that 15 billion - yes, even with b - were made in the app store. No store competitor is even close to repeating this feat.

"Thank you to all our wonderful developers who met the [App Store] with more than 425,000 of the coolest applications and our more than 200 million users by iOS exceed the 15 billion downloads," wrote Phil Schiller, VP Apple marketing in a statement.

For the first time, Apple has publicly admitted that the number of apps iPad surpassed 100,000, another milestone that was celebrated in late June - after an independent site that covers news of the company made the discovery.

My biggest curiosity about the App Store is the proportion of free downloads of apps for every paid app. During WWDC 2011, was shown a check for $ 2.5 billion iOS addressed to the devs because this is the value generated by them from the App Store was created. We have the dimension of the success of paid apps, but not the free apps.
