Brazilian Police receives complaints via Twitter and Facebook

The Military Police of São Paulo is moderninha. The corporation said it will strengthen its social media presents through accounts on Twitter and Facebook. What's more, citizens are invited to participate in a collaborative sort of patrol, aiming to reduce crime in the Tietê River and the river Pinheiros. According to information from the newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo, the two accounts in social media will be monitored day and night for 24 hours, so that no detail is lost. Citizens should help in police warning about suspicious people and problems that are sighted in 43 kilometers of roads that make up the two marginal.

The problems are in constant marginal. The PM says that, due to the sluggishness in the morning and late afternoon, these are the times when incidents like theft and trawlers are more common. The corporation asks for special attention to subject strangers on bikes, since this means of transport is widely used at the time of committing illegal.

Complaints may be sent directly to the two accounts. The 3rd Company of the 2nd Battalion, Traffic, composed of 160 officers, is responsible for analyzing the messages and direct police efforts if necessary.

The accounts in social networks are part of the initiative in Marginal PM. Both are in operation, on Twitter, with just over 600 followers, and with over 400 Facebook friends.
