See how it looks in the LightDM Ubuntu 11.10 (video)

After Canonical announced that Ubuntu would not use 11/10's classic GDM login manager, but the LightDM, and ask for help from the community to customize the layout of the program, the first screens and videos start to appear.


What we see initially is a visual and integrated into Unity, maintaining the visual identity system. Moreover, it is noteworthy the fact that when users navigate through the system, the background image is changing. It is unclear if this is the wallpaper of the user or a specific image for LightDM, but is a resource and so, no?

You may also notice some slowness while browsing, but this can be blamed on how the video was shot, or even the machine being used. Anyway, we still have long way to go until October, and surely the LightDM will be refined there.

Ubuntu 11.10 will be released for download in October 2011. If you ever want to test some of the features and system changes, you can download the second alpha release.
