Only in Japan: flying ball controlled by remote control records video recognition

Japan has great high-tech inventions such as robots that dance and our favorite video games like Sony's Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. However, some inventions are curious how this vehicle ball flight.

The ball was developed by the Defense Ministry of Japan and is able to fly like a helicopter. It has 42 cm in diameter and is extremely light weighing only 350 grams. We can see the video below that, when flying, the ball looks like a spaceship.

Because it is light, the ball can reach 64 mph, although with very little autonomy, being able to stay aloft for only eight minutes before falling to the ground. Anyway, due to the spherical shape, the vehicle can roll reducing the impact of the fall.

Internally, the ball has a propeller that allows the suspension in air and 8 wings that make flight control. If we add a camera and sensors, we hit the recognizer to capture video at accident sites, such as how to rescue victims of the earthquake that happened in Japan not long ago. If the vehicle is connected to Kinect, you can control it with only hand movements
