Minister wants to lower taxes for games

There are people out there campaigning for the fair price of imported products. Coincidence or not, the Communications Minister Paulo Bernardo said on Thursday that there is total interest of the federal government to lower the taxes on the price of games. It provides a policy that encourages local production of games, which would benefit the Brazilian, says the G1.

The scheme would be similar to that currently benefits the tablets, also a point made by Paul Bernardo since he took over the portfolio at the beginning of the year. The idea is to encourage the development and installation of games here. Ie, no import of finished product - is what most excellent minister's comment implies.

I have to disagree with the minister with regard to game development here. If he is talking about the titles themselves, at worst, even as there are graduate courses aimed at teaching how to program this kind of thing. Already the subject of comment by the minister is the islands, here comes trouble: everybody knows what happened to the latest consoles produced with domestic technology. The Japanese and Americans are well ahead of us in this field, not worth trying to compete with them.
