SkyDrive should learn from the Dropbox

Improved data backup service that almost nobody uses, SkyDrive should receive new applications in the near future. The information was confirmed by the leader of the company for Internet Explorer and Live, Brian Hall.

The 25 GB of free storage SkyDrive offers are not enough for users who want to ease up in time for documents, photos and videos to the network. So the company has not ruled launch apps that extend the functionality of the service beyond the browser.

According to Hall, we can expect good SkyDrive apps for mobile devices, allowing you to view files, photos and documents stored by the Office Web Apps. The executive admitted that he himself is not always easy to find things that are stored in the cloud storage service.

If Microsoft is smart, they will create applications similar to the Dropbox for several mobile platforms. Users want fast access to your files and mobile. While SkyDrive is limited to the browser, nobody will be interested in the 25 GB of space (5 GB can be used to synchronize folders and files with your computerand the rest are for upload only) .

It is expected that Microsoft will implement a closer integration with the cloud (herself) in Windows 8, whose first pictures - and the home screen - were demonstrated this week. An application based on JavaScript and HTML 5 is the most likely, but the company declined to comment on the matter.

In my daily use, always opted for SugarSync (including've talked about her here) to keep files synchronized with my machines. SkyDrive already serves very well to relieve the hard disks of unimportant files that may well be in the cloud and that should go away, will not be sorely missed. College essay old and outdated, for example.
