A giant multinational company that has thousands of sites and servers around the world is automatically charged with trying to control the security of them all. But if you have a target painted on its side, the task was practically impossible becomes feasible. This is the case of Sony, whose servers are being hacked as often coming out with new rumors surrounding Apple.
This time the Brazilian site of Sony Music was used for target practice. The attack happened on Saturday night past and appears to have been less sophisticated than the previous ones: only hackers changed the site's homepage. Since Sony discovered the hack, the site is down. This time, however, does not appear that there is a specific group behind the attack, but a set of individuals who put their nicknames on the page.
Not yet known whether they managed to steal some data confidential, something that has become trivial in raids to company servers. But Sony should release some more information about this attack in the future.
