As Steve Jobs said in the presentation of the IOS 5 at WWDC 2011 this week, if the hardware of a computer is your body, surely the software is its soul. Stretching the metaphor a little, we can say Microsoft focuses its efforts on the soul and brightest to run without errors in the bodies created by several OEMs, whether in desktop or smartphone. But it does not seem that the field of tablets will be so too.
According to sources the site Digitimes, the company is researching the costs of producing a tablet itself, with the Microsoft brand in its rear and 8 with Windows as their primary operating system. She would have conspired with the possibilities manufacturers like Texas Instruments and others based in Taiwan, through official channels but nothing was confirmed.
Remember, the Xbox, Zune and kin are on the list of products made by Microsoft itself in terms of both hardware and software. The fact that two of them failed to so much success, however, may be indicative of what the future holds for a tablet of the company. Or a stigma that they can get broken, who knows.
