Lion: OS the 10 best features in Apple's system

The WWDC is taking place, with technical sessions and more. With all the posts we published yesterday on the subject of mobile devices, just missing talking about the releases of Apple software for the company's computers. The Lion, the successor to Snow Leopard, is confirmadíssimo already this year, but the exact date was not given.

According to Apple, the Lion has more than 250 new features (or improved). Steve Jobs usually comes with these numbers, but never prove them officially. Anyway, one of Apple executives showed that more resources will be available at the Lion.

See below.

Top 10: The best features of OS X Lion

Multitouch gestures - Inspired by the IOS, Apple has implemented the most varied gestures with several fingers simultaneously. For example, in Safari you can use three fingers and control the browser back or forward on the page. Besides the swipe, the pincer movement is guaranteed in the new version of the system. (It will work only on Macs with multitouch technology)

Screen applications - The explanation for this action is to take full advantage of each tiny pixel in the MacBooks. Now, many applications have a version in full screen like the iPhone. According to Apple, the ability to jump from one application to another with multitouch gestures enables the full screen viewing.

Mission Control - It is a union of Spaces with Exposé. The resources were grouped into only one that lets you manage all the applications running on the machine (which has the active window, unlike some of the assistants that run on the Menu Bar)

Mac App Store - That there awhile. Is now standard in Apple's operating system, complete with in-app purchasing. According to Apple, the latest version of the virtual store will push notifications to notify you of updates in the store bought.
Launchpad - Copied iPad, this feature shows all applications installed on your Mac with just a pinch gesture.

Resume (Resume) - I just have one story that documents reopen after restarting the Mac, for example. The Lion automatically takes over the files being edited at the time the application is triggered.

Auto Save (AutoSave) - No more need to save documents. Apple promises that the files are always saved with the latest changes. However, the company did not detail about the frequency with which this bailout will happen.

Versions (Version) - A kind of Time Machine for documents. The Lion will make an automatic version control of documents at issue. Even Steve Jobs promised drag and drop elements between two versions of a document (for example, take a picture that was in the first version of a report and replaces it in the most current version).
Airdrop System - recognition of machines that are on the same network (wired or Wi-Fi), with the right to exchange files via P2P.

Mail v5 - The new version of Apple's Mail application has been redone from scratch. Besides offering full screen viewing, one of its strengths is the Conversation view, something that Gmail has introduced some years ago. The search for the Mail has gotten smarter, and knows the differences between terms related to messages and contact names.

Some of the features provided by Apple are clear improvements in applications that already exist (the new version of Mail, for example) while others are truly unprecedented in Mac OS (version control is one of them).

The Lion will cost very little: only $ 29. Will be distributed only by the Mac App Store, and not by physical media. Users who have more than one Mac will be able to log into the Mac App Store and automagically download the system on all machines without paying a penny more for it.

It is worth remembering that some resources have not yet had their names published in Portuguese. It may be that Apple will translate, as in the case of AutoSave, which in theory turn Auto-Save, or keep them in the original English. At this point, the company Steve Jobs is totally unpredictable.

Finally, Apple decided to remove the "Mac" the trade system. In future version, it ceases to be Mac OS X only Lion to call OS X Lion. Who knows the reason for the change.

In the above video, Phil Schiller, Apple's VP of marketing, says the ideal is to design both the hardware and the operating system software. This is the position that the company is taking a long, long time.
